JeffCo August Primary Results

5 Aug

Before we jump into the (unofficial) election results, let’s look at how many votes were cast for each party this election compared to the last two November elections. The Democrats regained almost all the ground they lost in 2012, with only 1,200 fewer voters than the GOP.

Approximate number of primary votes cast in each party:

2014 Dem votes: 14,500

2014 GOP votes: 15,700

2012 Dem votes: 10,600

2012 GOP votes: 18,800

2010 Dem votes: 13,900

2010 GOP votes: 14,100

There were a lot of undervotes, perhaps because people were mainly interested in the ballot measures. About 1,500 voters in each party chose no candidate for county executive. County turnout was 23%.
