Arnold vs. AG Update

15 Aug

To kind of close the loop on the sign-in sheet saga in Arnold, the city decided to give in – on the AG’s request for the June 19 list. The city states that the January 17 list that Doris Borgelt asked for has been destroyed. There is no word as of yet if the lawsuit is still on the table, as it should be, since 6 of the 9 counts listed (not included the injunction against future shenanigans) pertain to Borgelt’s request.

This occurred on July 19, and was reported in the Leader on July 26, so I’m a bit late here. But that brings up a point. As you probably know, there are two versions of the Leader, the Arnold-Imperial edition and the Jefferson County edition. Most of the news in the two editions overlap, but the former covers Arnold a bit more extensively. Only occasionally do articles on Arnold make the JeffCo edition (which is the one I receive). Invariably, though, it seems like only articles that are positive about Arnold (or negative about people like Doris Borgelt who are not part of the crony club). That is why the editorial excoriating Borgelt appeared in the JeffCo version, but the article outlining the vindication she received from the Attorney General did not.
